2024 was a milestone year for the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) as well as the students we serve. Over the course of the year, we introduced new programs, hosted new events, and broke records with initiatives across campus.

1. Women’s Health Takes Center Stage at InVenture Prize 2024 

The 2024 InVenture Prize winners, LilyPad Health, created an at-home, non-invasive menstrual blood screening tool that offers more accessible and private testing for women's health issues, such as HPV, cervical cancer, and PCOS.

2. 2024 Fall All-Majors Career Fair Brings Thousands of Students and Hundreds of Employers Together

The Fall All-Majors Career Fair saw over 8,000 student attendees and featured a wide range of companies from Fortune 500 firms to startups, offering opportunities in co-ops, internships, and full-time positions.

3. Georgia Tech Reaches New Milestones in Enrollment, Graduation, and Retention Rates 

This past academic year, Georgia Tech conferred 12,000 degrees, a major step toward its goal of 15,000 annual graduates by 2030. The Institute's commitment to student success is reflected in record graduation and retention rates, including a 70% four-year graduation rate for the Fall 2020 first-year cohort, a six-year graduation rate of 94% for the Fall 2018 cohort, and a 98% first-to-second-year retention rate for the Fall 2023 cohort.

5. Georgia Tech Student Velin Kojouharov Named 2024 Knight-Hennessy Scholar 

Velin "Venny" Kojouharov’s dedication to robotics, ecology, and sustainability earned him recognition as a future leader in engineering and innovation. Throughout his undergraduate career, Kojouharov has conducted groundbreaking research in bio-inspired robotics at esteemed institutions such as Georgia Tech, Harvard University, and ETH Zurich.

6. 26 Georgia Tech Students Selected as 2024 Millennium Fellows: Advancing Global Goals through Local Action 

Twenty-six Georgia Tech students were selected for the prestigious 2024 Class of the Millennium Fellowship, a global leadership program jointly organized by the Millennium Campus Network (MCN) and the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI).

9. Pre-Health Advising Hosts Annual Kickoff Event 

Pre-Health Advising hosted a record-breaking kick-off event in August, drawing over 250 attendees. Students interested in health professions were able to network with current pre-health students, attend a panel discussion, and explore opportunities with pre-health organizations.

10. Where Are They Now? 2023 InVenture Prize Winners on the Past Year, Entrepreneurship, and Iterating 

Jeff Mao and Tyler Ma won first place in the 2023 Georgia Tech InVenture Prize with their web-based platform SellRaze, a solution to simplify the online resale listing process. Jeff and Tyler discuss their lives since their big victory, where SellRaze is today, and how winning the competition has shaped them as entrepreneurs and tech professionals.
