Three Georgia Tech undergraduates have been selected for their outstanding academic records and their potential to contribute to the Fulbright mission of promoting cross-cultural understanding.

Arvyn De
Arvyn De, BME 2026

Arvyn De

Arvyn, a two-time PURA award winner, aims to advance ethically informed personalized medicine tools to reduce health disparities and improve equitable healthcare outcomes globally. He looks forward to conducting more research abroad, having previously worked in a lab in Japan through the Nakatani Foundation. This summer, Arvyn will be working with Dr. Sunil Vasu at the University of Alberta to create an interactive LLM chatbot for patients to ask questions about their ECG results and gain further insights. Arvyn encourages new students to join clubs and organizations to find their passions and community.

Marielle Frooman
 Marielle Frooman, BS Biochemistry 2026

Marielle Frooman

Marielle will be spending her summer synthesizing drug-like molecules as a part of her larger interests in chemistry. She hopes this experience will narrow her focus as she begins to apply for graduate programs, with the ultimate goal of leading a university-level laboratory focused on natural product discovery and synthesis. Marielle looks forward to meeting new people and experiencing a new culture while pushing her research skills forward.

Neha Shahrawat
 Neha Shahrawat, BME 2026

Neha Shahrawat

Neha aspires to develop cost-effective treatments that will democratize medicine across the socioeconomic gradient through innovative biomedical technology and a patient-centric clinical approach. This summer, she will be mathematically modeling the efficacy of CAR T Cell therapy in response to adenocarcinomas. These models will serve as ways to test the potency of new therapies but also identify their weaknesses and suggest specific parameters for improvement. The skills she gains from this experience will help her on her path toward becoming a physician. Neha says her favorite place on Tech’s campus is “the library, filled with friends, books, and coffee.”
