Award Recipients with OUE Staff

Each spring, the Academic Success and Advising team in the Office of Undergraduate Education honors faculty and staff across Georgia Tech who have made exceptional contributions to undergraduate achievement. These annual awards recognize individuals outside of our division whose work advances student retention, progression, advising, and well-being. We’re pleased to introduce this year’s awardees and finalists.

The Complete College Georgia Champion Award recognizes one Georgia Tech faculty or staff member annually for their outstanding contributions to undergraduate retention, progression, and timely graduation. This year’s recipient, Dr. Lakshmi Raju, has made a transformative impact on student success in the School of ECE.

An ECE alumna herself, Dr. Raju blends academic support, community building, and well-being into every aspect of her role. She teaches the ECE Discovery Studio course for first-year students, leads tutoring efforts for critical core courses, organizes wellness events, and oversees a fund supporting experiential learning and conference attendance for students with financial need.

“There is no way for me to overstate the profound impact Dr. Raju has had on our ECE student body,” said Dr. Elliot Moore, who nominated her. “She functions as a faculty member, advisor, and curricular leader—all in support of student success. I believe she embodies the very essence of this award.”

The selection committee also recognized Xavier Cammon, Academic Advisor in the School of Aerospace Engineering, as a finalist for his work supporting student mentorship and community-building through the AE Ambassadors and prospective student programming.

Dr. Meghan Babcock, School of Psychology

Dr. Meghan Babcock, who serves as both a faculty member and academic advisor in the School of Psychology, is this year’s faculty recipient of the Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advisor Award. Her advising philosophy mirrors her excellence in teaching—prioritizing evidence-based practices, student empowerment, and meaningful mentorship.

“Meghan works tirelessly to create an environment in which students feel seen, heard, and supported,” wrote her supervisor, Christopher. “She ensures students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed both at Georgia Tech and in their future careers.”

Students echoed this praise. One student recommender, Vicky, noted: “Thanks to her guidance, I always trusted that the information she provided was accurate and in my best interest.” Another student, Danielle, reflected on Dr. Babcock’s influence in the classroom and beyond, crediting her Social Psychology course as pivotal in her preparation for the MCAT and her academic journey.

Amanda Blocker, this year’s staff recipient of the Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advisor Award, is known for her compassionate, holistic approach to advising students in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. She was nominated by colleague Davis Palubski for her commitment to creating meaningful academic experiences and encouraging students to explore interdisciplinary opportunities.

“Amanda motivates and inspires students to push their academic and ethical boundaries,” Davis wrote. “She fosters an environment where students feel empowered to pursue their ambitions with confidence.”

Student Camryn Bryant recalled their first meeting at FASET orientation, saying, “Amanda reassured me when I needed it most. Before she left to help other students, we bonded over our shared love for Taylor Swift’s Reputation. It was a small moment—but it made me feel like I had someone on my team.”

All three awardees were celebrated at Georgia Tech’s 2025 Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon on April 25. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding individuals for their service and commitment to undergraduate student success.
