Christopher Reaves, Ph.D.

Assistant Vice Provost / Executive Director, Office of Experiential & Engaged Learning

Chris Reaves provides leadership and supervision for the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning (E2L), which advances high-impact practices (HIPs) and experiential education. He oversees undergraduate research, student innovation programs, learning communities, community-based learning, undergraduate transition seminars, and co-op and internship programs, and Ignite, working closely with academic colleges and other campus partners.

Chris earned his Doctorate in Urban and Public Affairs from the University of Louisville, a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science Management from Jacksonville State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University.

He provides strategic leadership for E2L initiatives, overseeing programs that enhance student success and access to transformative educational experiences. In addition to having extensive experience in supervising academic engagement units, Chris chairs system-wide and multi-institutional efforts, contributes to strategic planning, and advances access to experiential learning participation through policy development and institutional collaboration.
