Olivia Johnson, Ph.D.
Assistant Director, Academic Initiatives
In her current role as assistant director of Academic Initiatives, Olivia Johnson oversees the Drop-In Tutoring Program and works with tutoring partners across campus to deliver effective tutoring services to undergraduate students at Georgia Tech.
Olivia earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of South Florida in 2014 and 2017, respectively, and she completed her Doctorate in Sociology at Emory University in 2024. She was a Centennial Scholar at Emory from 2017 to 2022 and received the Eleanor Main Graduate Student Mentor Award in 2023.
